8.2 Using SSD on separate desktop PC to recover files or perform file-system check ‘fsck’

Connect the M.2 SATA in a separate PC which has Linux flavor OS and type the following command in the PC terminal with root user permission to find out the M.2 SATA device name.

$fdisk –l

The above command will list storage devices names connected to the PC, find out the M.2 SATA based on size from the displayed list. If one or more storage media has same size, then remove the M.2 SATA and try the same command. Check which device name is not getting displayed when compared with the previous list.

Once the M.2 SATA device name is found (e.g /dev/sdc) then type the following command in terminal

$ fsck /dev/sdc
