2.1. Variants

EPSM-10GX4 is available in 3 variants :

EPSM-10GX4-L2

This combination includes EPSM-10GX4 standard hardware and Layer 2 software stack from Microsemi. All 28 ports will be functional. More details on Layer 2 software stack (WebstaX) can be found here.

EPSM-10GX4-L3

This combination includes EPSM-10GX4 standard hardware and Layer 3 software stack from Microsemi. All 28 ports will be functional. More details on Layer 3 software stack (IstaX) can be found here.

EPSM-10GX4-L3-1588

This combination includes EPSM-10GX4 hardware modified to support IEEE 1588 PTP Protocol and Layer 3 software stack as in above combination.

In this configuration, module expects system clock to be supplied externally. Please refer carrier board design guide lines for more details.
